So what are the thoughts on a very low cost HHV kit to be sold possibly in the vendor area?

I culled my material to craft some HHV-apropriate talks, but i kept thinking it would be a disservice to NOT have something hands-on to contribute as well.

So.... I'm planning on bringing about a dozen 'hardware hacking on the super cheap' kits.

They do require a computer, but don't require any soldering. There's a microcontroller, logic analyser, serial cable, keypad, LEDs, and some other odds and ends along with several self-guided project cards.
I'm still picking and choosing the details but anyone with the capacity to load an arduino sketch should be able to guide themselves to:
-sniff/poke serial buses
-bit bang a signal based on a datasheet
-crack a PIN with timing sidechannel attack
-still a WIP, but I might have a key extraction by simple power analysis sidechannel attack ready in time for defcon

There's about $25 of parts in each kit. I'm not planning on selling them but just loaning them out. I'd rather not invoke any 'vending at defcon without a license' wrath, but i was thinking of asking for some collateral when someone borrows the kit so they don't walk - recommendations welcome.

Sound good? Any objections? Any special requests?

Good!! This year will be a record year for the most soldering stations and the most kits EVER!!

Hopefully everyone enjoys the DarkNet kit(s). And hopefully everything gets here before DEF CON so I'm not putting kits together at the con.

Looking forward to the DarkNet kit(s). If things don't get there early i'm sure you'll be able to find a few of us that will be arriving early who'd be willing to help out putting kits together.

I have had pretty good luck in the HHV but... you never know. I like the idea it fits the openness of the community we have there. Send me a PM im curious about this kits... sound cool.
