I think you missed my point. You said that an X-Box is similar to a computer, therefore computers provide a better platform for gaming ... an argument that doesn't follow.

How do consoles and PCs differ in a manner that affects gameplay? The ability to share information between different games in real-time? You seem to have a problem with the technology lag, but that lag has often gone in both directions.

I play on both types of systems, and they each have their own frustrating flaws. However, the single-party control(1) not present for PCs means that consoles are the most likely to have those flaws remedied ... and we see that with every revision (however long that may take). Of course, the chaotic, anything goes atmosphere in the PC world means "traditional" computer gamers get to play with the double-edged razors of the latest technology.

    (1) You don't need to look any further than proprietary memory cards to see a down-side of such control, though.

Don't fool yourself into believing that one type of platform is better than the other. In the end, of course, it always comes down to the game developers.

Nope, I never said simular. I said 'begining to evolve into'.

I have owned a NES and currently own a PS2...and I still believe a computer is more versatile, gives much better graphics and has the ability to also assist you with school...whereas a console system is stock, cannot be upgraded(except peripherals, like extra controllers, etc) and you are stuck with 1 or 2 controllers. NES, if I recall, was the only system to have a gun, bazooka, joystick, paddles, a glove...and a controller.

My point is, when people talk about gamers, they usually mean console gamers and forget about the gamers who play on PC.
