I love picking, though haven't found a good prefab set... mostly make my own when needed... picking is pretty simple and just requires a lot of patience and practice...

here are a couple of threads we talked about lockpicking last year:

My firend brought over his set of "picks" today, and after about an hour I got my first lil' masterlock open. It was such a crowning moment in my teenage years.

The MIT guide still holds true for those begining:

BW did say it best "patience". That is the key to getting it.

                  How stuff works:

They also sell some kits. Though a lot of the "kits" (ie: guns) are shitty.

If your going to use that, you might as well get a CQB Ram, Gorilla Bar or a Monoshock. They will do the job well. Them or a nice Sledge Hammer.

There's nothing like the look on your neighbour's face after you've helped them get into their apartment when they've forgotten their keys... that wonderful "grateful-yet-fearful" look...

                        Such a useful skill!

Can you pick a locking steering wheel lock and still have it start the car? I thought the key had to be in for it to start.

i can,but thats cuz i have all the tools to do so..what you do it get your tension bar in place on the lock, then take your gun and put it inside the lock, pull the trigger, pull back,repeat..that will get all the tumblers in the correct place..then take out the gun and tension bar,i then have master keys for every lock, door lock, key hole since the sixties..then just put that bad boy in and start up the machine..pretty cool stuff..i might bring my tools to the con..do you think they would be safe there??
