That would attract some police attention. It would be soo funny is a cop stoped the cars. But then time is money. Not that my time is worth more than a dime a day. I am still flying though.:D

Nevada concealed carry
What are the practical rules for carting about firearms in Las Vegas and Nevada? I know concealed carry of a handgun is forbidden without a permit. Can a non-resident get a permit? What constitutes concealed carry? Is open carry OK, then? If you have a permit, other than schools and government offices, where are you not allowed to carry (casinos, bars?)?
The bit about what constitutes concealed carry is probably the most important.
If these questions seem strange to some of you reading this, I'm from New Jersey, and being in possession of a handgun without a concealed carry permit is a legal nightmare if you are not on a straight line between the store, your house and the range. Oh, and best of luck getting said permit. It's deny by default.Comment

Regarding NV firearms laws, check out packing.org. You should be able to answer any questions you have by reading through that site.Comment

WOW! Thanks for that link, NeuralDesert. It answered my questions, except for the most important one (what constitutes concealed carry?).
That last question doesn't matter anymore, though, since I saw this there:
http://ordlink.com/codes/clarknv/_DA...ion_of_fi.html
Essentially, if you have a concealable firearm, you have to register it within 24 hours of entering the county. Ick.
Also, North Las Vegas has basically outlawed weapons in cars, which makes things sticky. References here: http://ordlink.com/codes/nolasvegas/...n_prohibi.html. Problem being, I don't where Las Vegas ends, and North Las Vegas begins.
There are other scary looking statutes on the packing.org page, but these seem to be the most relevant.
The packing.org page does note that if you are visiting Vegas, you don't have to register, but I don't see an exception in the statute.
IANAL, but I would strongly recommend that anyone thinking of bringing a weapon to Las Vegas/Nevada check packing.org for yourselves, and consult the appropriate law enforcement agencies and a lawyer.
Sounds like too much of a hassle to me, I think I'll skip it, and stick to weapons not covered by the law.
Does anyone know a lawyer in LV that specializes in weapons law?Comment

The other option is to get the non-resident concealed carry permit, and with that you are free to wander around everywhere in Nevada that will permit it.
Classes are about $75, the sheriff sticks you for $60 and the backround check is another $40.Nonnumquam cupido magnas partes Interretis vincendi me corripit

I've got the 442, and used to carry it on a regular basis, in another line of work many many moons ago. The 340PD would be a night and day difference over lugging that 442 around.Originally posted by GackMan
get the stainless. the ultralights are killer with full house 124gr .357s
When I am serious about scoring as many non-resident CCW's as I would need for covering the majority of the U.S., I will spring for the Kimber Ultra CDP II. :)Nonnumquam cupido magnas partes Interretis vincendi me corripit

If memory serves me correct, its three years for non-residents, if you feel like avoiding all the hoops involved with getting a Nevada CCW, try Florida as you can do everything via U.S. Mail. :)Originally posted by Merciless_Mike

Only problems really with Florida is that it doesn't currently honor Nevada's CCW, and it can take up to three months to get.Nonnumquam cupido magnas partes Interretis vincendi me corripit

In the interests of everyone's continued freedom, do you have information from public, official sources or in statue that Nevada/Las Vegas honors Florida's CCW, or that having a Nevada CCW exempts you from registering under the Clark County Code 12.04.110, 12.04.200 and 12.04.210?Comment

All this sounds great, but Kalifornia does not honor anyother state's CCW's.... again.. off to Firearm friendly state for me :)Originally posted by erehwon

LV registration requirements
A Nevada CCW does not exempt you from having to register your handgun in Las Vegas, as it's a requirement to have your carry piece registered in Las Vegas in order to get a permit there. However, if you are just visiting Las Vegas or passing through, you do not have to register your handgun - see this link. The GMJ Enterprises Nevada CCW Page has lots of information on Nevada state and local firearms laws.Comment
