I enjoy the con for the people as well as for the talks. It's nice to hang out with thousands of others who are all of the same general mindset. Smart, Tech, and generally fun to be around.

The talks are excellent. After attending Blackhat I can say that Defcon deffinetly does not lack in the area of content, it is just as info packed. We get great talks for a lot less then any other corporate Security Conference out there. $75 gets you a lot.

Have a good time drinking if that's what you're into. But try to do it at night and remain semi-drunk if not sober for the talks. You won't regret it.

The only regrets I have ever had at defocn is missing a talk I planned on seeing. You can drink at home all year round and all night long at defcon if you choose. I guarantee you'll enjoy defcon more if you balance your alchohol intake with the large amount of excellent information offered to you.
