I been thinking about the relay race.. I did think that radio controled would be fun but hard to control and still need to pass the baton
BUT, what about, sensor driven where it would have to go around the pool... knows the edge of the pool and not fall in.. but with no other bounderies, could end up being against the walls.. it would make for an interesting race and possibly a long one :) ?????
Also, you would need to have sensors in each of the relay bots so they would be able to find each other. Also a designated area for passing the baton.. and the baton must not hit the ground.. of course if your bot can't pick it backup .. your out. but a penalty is better than disqualification.Kraa: You are Slackware Linux. They should basically have a start button on them, and from there, they do their thing. I could see a remote kill switch ith a relay to the battery, but thats' about it. It's more fun to turn'em on and see what they do. :)--Shatter

hmm.. I am starting to design an autonomous bot that jacks itself off... I am thinking it will be programming with over 255 international hand-jacking techniques... though I have a feeling that there won't be a compatible category for such a functional bot :/Comment

About a year ago wasn't there a link for a reward to anone who can build a robot that can navigate and get form point A to point B in a given amount of time? With all the input here I believe we will either have a very intelligent robot, or a very large one. :>Comment

BW has been trying to convince me that a robot operated devoid of human interfearance is the only way to go...... and i think i am beginning to come around....
for the same reason that i originally didnt like the idea; it will be more difficult.

It is difficult to keep these things in mind.
1. somewhat small (remember first year )
2. not too expensive
3. NOT an RC race.
This contest can be done in so many different ways that we need to stay focused on certain ideas this year.
Basicly, we want robots that do something and not just controlled Bigfoot car.
