how about MacOSXHints?
The site has a lot of basic crap that someone new to OS X or even *NIX would find helpful. Stuff like how to edit the rc files or change your default CLI shell permanently. But that stuff aside it has a good deal of information, tips, how-to, troubleshooting, security, services etc... that more experienced users would enjoy.
