      I'm in.

Just need to find a good source for ribs down there (suggestions for source?) and I can whip up a set of cherry cola ribs you'll die for

The primary rack of ribs will be for me (love these things). The rest of you can fight over the leftovers, or trade for samples of others.

I suggest cooks get first dibs on samples on others creations :)

Should the event take place on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, I am happy to contribute a couple of racks of ribs and my barbequing prowess. Additionally, if there are no bbq's onsite, I can bring a grill.

Thank god, we may actually make this happen this year!
As last year, my skills on the grills are avalible, I will be happy to slave over the fire for a while.

I like Wensday for the BBQ... and sunset park is a little ways away..but I think it wil do just fine, I guess saying that I will help out with the transport goes without saying right?
If I had a nickle for every time someone offered me ten cents to keep my two cents to myself... I would be a rich man.

with any luck I will be rolling in with a vehicle that can transport myself and two others (at a time). ..this sounds like a really bad intro to a logic problem, but trust me.. no ducks must get across a lake in half a canoe.

I plan on bringing a grill (portable if possible) along. A good local source for inexpensive meats, veggies, etc would be very helpful to many.. I can't quite truck that much down with me.

As for the date and time, I was tentatively thinking Friday evening would be the best, taking into effect that ) everyone would be there ) all talks and events would be done (except HJ) ) it would be cooler than during the day. If y'all prefer Weds or whatever, that can be done too; it will just mean a _limited_ attendance from folks that might want to play along.

With that said, lets not get into a discussion of time in this thread. ->the proposal thread. This argument/paradox usually happens *every* time the next forum meet is discussed, so lets keep this thread as clean as possible ;)

                  Idea for grill

Is there a wal-mart, etc in the area? If so, someone could get the go there and get a BFG (biggest fucking grill), we use the hell out of it, then take it back because of "unsatisifaction". Viola! A grill big enough for the masses, and no rental costs!

Well paridise park is not one of the nicest places to be, that and it dosn't have that many bbq's. That and its not in the greatest area, I know paradise park is closer but its really a dump it was a nice park like 10 years ago.

I'll post some picture's of both Sunset park and Paridise this week to give everyone an Idea of what they both look like, but the drive from the AP to Sunset park is only about 5min or less its also the same for Paridise park.

                        The fuzz

I would also like to add that Sunset park is much, much larger than Paradise Park. I figure that if a shitload of people end up participating, that the large amount of people won't be so much of a burden if there's plenty of acreage to go around. It seems to me that using Sunset park wont attract as much attention from the LVMPD or LVFD as well, considering people have family BBQ's there quite often.
The last thing we would need is for the LVMPD to get pissed off by a bunch of rowdy, drunk and hungry hackers.
                        just fluff it

                            Great Idea

I am definitely looking forward to burning a brat or two. Does any one know of local restrictions (i.e. alcoholic beverages) at LV parks? Also, is there shade available?

The last time I checked, they don't have any problems with it...as long as we don't start maneuvering our vehicles around the park whilst drunk.

The only possible problem I can think of would be the underage issue for a small portion of the crowd, which is common sense though...

As for the BBQ, you will definitely see me there, I may be able to drag a grill or two and/or some Costco meat.
