Wait till you see the wonderful and pleasant new security, freshly painted puke colored walls and hip hop club that replaced the bar and at 9$ for a drink at the new bar/club who wouldnt want to party.

And remember that awful sewer smell at DC11? Here's those sewers being uh, repaired. It smelled just as bad still.

No flat screens in the rooms yet, but the network was trivial to access.
--- The fuck? Have you ever BEEN to Defcon?

        here's the fun part....

traditionally when an establishment falls under new ownership the staff and management also undergoes an overhaul.
meaning; i have a feeling that most employees and a chunk of management will be experiencing DefCon for their first time... this has the potential to go really well for us... or be really bad for us...

The management had to be new for the last Defcon. The second con we were at the AP they practically bent over and lubed up for us. They saw our geekbux coming back and they were ready to make bank. Every year, except last year, it was the same. They *loved* Defcon because we were their biggest money draw of the year; people got overtime, people got tipped well and the hotel made stupid money. Last year, they were rude to the point of pissing off everyone I talked with who had to deal with them. Not to mention the fact that they hired grotesquely incompetant "security" staff... not clueful. As I said earlier, I was told by the clerk at the desk that I 'wasn't going to get a discount for being with Defcon and that we weren't coming back next year (2005)'. My response to her was that she'd change her tune when they counted the liquor receipts... and they did.

I'm still debating whether or not I'll stay at the AP this year. They certainly didn't earn my customer loyalty with their treatment last year and if they don't kiss my ass this year there will be... consequences.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Stay at the AP and buy your booze from the liquor store on the corner.

How much do you think they make off of us every year, Astcell? And don't forget the Multistore next door.

Sniff... Kind of makes me homesick for In and Out. DC12 was the first time I had eaten there since leaving California in the 5th grade. And Jack in the Box who could forget that they killed a person who ate there once. Ahh well we have Steak and Shake here whos fries are better than In and Out even if their burgers are not.
                    Did Everquest teach you that?

Words cannot describe it... Maybe this is their pre-emptive strike to destroy the hotel *before* defcon?

Or they are counting on being assholes to us so we destroy it for them. Either way, the place is fugly. I am betting that security will be nazis this year to protect the new assets. I forsee us Goons having our hands full.

Isn't that part of some sort of auto show or event at the AP? That isn't AP "art" is it?
