Does anyone know of great sushi place from personal experience?
Do we make flyers and/or and official shmoo event?

There's an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch buffet in Crystal City near the Pentagon. Can't remember the name of it. It's decent.

The easiest way to advertise this is to make a little website for yourselves, give me the URL, and I'll have it mentioned on the con website as a news item, as well as a permanent link on the links page under "ShmooCon inspired shtuff...". Then you can run the unofficial show from there.

If we can find a place that's convenient by Metro, that will keep transport costs cheap for those of us poor folks without cars. Just a small request!

Metro'ing DC...

Yellow Line comes up right under Crystal City. Used to take it from King Street to L'Enfant Plaza to get to work. You can walk just about any where conveniently in Crystal City from the Metro. And won't it be fun to have a bunch of tipsy convention attendees riding the rails? :-)

Sorry for the delay... been in Hawaii on vacation and without internet access (sickening isn't it?). From what I've looked into, I'd say we go with the Sushi place in Crystal City. Now to just decide the day...

I am a sushi eating machine. In the past 4 days I have had sushi on both coasts and I even stopped at an all you can eat place in Vegas last night called Sushi-Mon on S. Maryland. So where are eating on Friday?????

Monday - San Diego

Well, the original plan fell through. I had talked to a woman who had said they could accomodate us AND they had all you can eat sushi. The kicker was that it was only $12.95 a person. I thought this was a rather odd... so I decided to call back the next day and hopefully get someone who spoke better English. Turns out they couldn't accomodate us, and they don't have all you can eat sushi. So, for the past few days I've been calling sushi places around the DC area and have come to the conclusion that it will probably be best if we all just throw in ~$25 and just order a whole bunch of sushi. I have a few places who are going to get back to me about "package deals" but I think the first will give us more food for our money. If I don't hear back from them by tomorrow afternoon or what they offer doesn't seem to be economical, I'll just make a reservation for 30 or so people and we can do the a la carte route.
