Dear god.. those folks had issues. 70 min to get a few bites of sushi.. then refuse to sell us any more.
Well.. at least Cygnus and Octalpuss took the sources of fire away from me before I could burn the place to the ground.

On the other hand, props to ya, Godminusone for taking the effort to get it together. It was very good sushi, and there was no knowing they would fuck us around like that. Thanks to G-Mark for getting the bill cut down. Defcon's Sushicon is going to be even better than last year. I can't wait.

Best moment was the look on the waitress's face outside the other sushi place we stopped at to figure out directions.

33 people decending on the place must have scared the hell out of her.

Yeah. When I called and asked if they could accomodate 35 people... they assured me they could. Not sure how they expected 2 sushi chefs to keep the food coming, but... hey... live and learn.

As for Sushicon 2.0 in Vegas this summer... was everyone happy with the venue last year?

Major kudos and big thanks to GM1 for putting Shmooshicon together and doing all the herding and fence riding that went with it . Although we didn't eat enough raw fish to get mercury poisoning, it was fun and well worth doing it again.

Agreed. Even though they cut us off due to our mass sushi consumption, the sushi that we did have was great and the atmosphere kicked ass. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
