You got very good advise already, I will add that under no circunstances go to sleep drunk, by the law of some states I belive include Nevada, you can be found guilty of Driving Under the Influence if you are caught driving, or are caught in actual physical control, of a motor vehicle and you are under the influence of alcoholic beverages, or any chemical or controlled substance, to the extent that your mental and physical faculties are impaired. This mean that in the eyes of the law, if you are behind the weel, phisically sat in the drivers sit, you are in control of a motor vehicle, even if not DRIVING. therefore it necesary follows that if you are also drunk you will be found guilty of DUI. This criteria is confusing, and can be challenged, but do not give a reason to start.

What about backseat or passenger seat? What if im drunk in the passenger seat but I have my keys on me.

In that case I don't believe that they could arrest you for DWI, they could however, arrest you for public intoxication and/or vagrancy...depending on what kind of mood the cop is in.

CP, have you considered maybe a hostel? Rates are usually reasonable and you wouldn't have to worry about any of the dangers of sleeping in your car. I don't know what your financial situation is, but surely between now and the Con you could make a couple hundred extra dollars even if it meant taking a McJob for a week or so...

Well, Im broke, what else is new, And im considering just crashing in my car. Has anyone had the unfortunate plesure of having to sleep in their car?

Yea, still broke, I just made 140 this week so thats enought to cover the con and some gas money, now for hotel food and spending money...

Don't eat at the Alexsis, the food sucks and they are price gouging bastards. I seem to recall a little bottle of water costing something silly like $4 in the hotel last year.

The best thing you can do is hit a super market and buy a bunch of cold cuts and bread. Or whatever you eat. You will save a bundle this way, I promise. Many hotel rooms have little fridges, if yours doesn't get a cheap cooler and avail yourself of the free hotel ice.

Plus, sammichs are tasty. And much better than a soggy pizza slice that's been under a heat lamp for 6 hours.

Also, I know I have posted this a million times, but hit Big empire for a list of all the places to eat cheap.

Thanks, ill bring a louf (spelling?) of hawaien style bread and some penut butter, thatl cover some sandwitches, and as for drinks, well, theres always social enginering for that, so thats covered.

Free drinks are harder to avoid then get. There are parties all over the place handing them out all night. You are covered there.

During the day drink as much water as you can, esp if you are drinking. There are water fountains all over the place. I also reccomend getting a couple of plastic bottles and refilling them as needed. I like to fill a couple of 1 liter bottles with water and throw them in the freezer. They melt slowly for hours, so you always have a cold drink.

I think by law you can't be denied a glass of water, even if you aren't buying anything in Vegas, but I could be wrong.

It's very easy to get dehydrated in vegas and not even know it. The heat is amazing.

No, your right its true, you cant be denied water, its the same in sanantonio Texas, in almost everystore there big drums filled with free water bottles.
