The flying saucer is set to land next week. I did not hear about any return trip.

Here's my rumor:
Due to construction, large sections of the parking lot will be unavailable for parking. Overflow parking is available at the Las Vegas International Airport, in the Long Term lots. Taxi cab service will be available with the same AP Service and AP price.

I think the rumor of the outside grill got started during the discussion of how it might be hard not to mistake the AP/V for a building on fire (or what it looks like when you're so drunk you're puking blood) because of the colors they painted it. This led to a discussion of whether or not it might be better if they just burned the place to the ground rather than continue to paint it that color... (I may have been talking to myself most of this time, however) Someone, perhaps on of my own secret pseudonyms, suggested that if the AP were to provide hosted BBQ's that the chances that the hotel might burn down by accident would be diminished - although this probably wouldn't effect the odds that it will burn down on purpose.

All of this was confused with the logistics of the TBBQ (Toxic Barbeque) because there was someone, somewhere who didn't want to be troubled to go off hotel grounds to char flesh and consume potable liquids. One of the more level headed folks, probably HighWizard, came to the conclusion that if those same individuals could not somehow make their way to the TBBQ then F* them anyway. Naturally, as usually happens, a completely different off board thread was spawned relating to who we might want to come to the TBBQ who were too busy last year working themselves to death over some commercial con at some other hotel that coincidentally happens every year right before Defcon (we're not pointing fingers at anyone in particular...) and how they might otherwise be encouraged to attend.

In the final analysis, we (myself and all alternate nyms conversing in the scary place in my head where no one seems to feel comfortable - go figure) decided to get our Smokes/Vodka and RedBull at Sams/Costco/BX - where they also sell lube and condoms should you have to purchase anything from the AP in an emergency - as well as large quantities of raw flesh for the charring and mixers... lots of mixers. Whether or not the AP burns to the ground as the result of an unfortunate accident which we (me, myself and I) cannot possibly condone, is an issue left on the table for obvious reasons.

Note: the opinions represented here are mine alone (and whichever of the mods chooses to edit them) - I for one welcome the corporate sponsorship of RedBull and I will happily wear a t-shirt with a logo in exchange for 3 cases of their lovely beverage which is about how much I drink of it in the course of the con.

I heard something about DT doing a big press release to finally reveal his true identity ... highwizard coming out of the closet as a blonde ... blackwave resurfacing and courting a huge media event led by Chris to denounce wardriving as a criminal and terrorist activity. ... this year the Alexis hiring intelligent security guards that are concious of human rights and the limits to their rent-a-cop prowess .. $0.50 cokes and $1.00 pizza slices .. clean pools and tubs.. the replacement of hacker jeorpardy with an all new 'Stop teh Fed' contest... world peace brought on by another year of collecting soda can tabs. .... ... too bad defcon was cancelled again, I was really looking forward to it.
