    More hints:

Might be nice if you have a laptop to have a DB9 available .... not required...just might make life easier....

Just for clarification, that's an RS232 serial DB9?

I deal in connectors and shoving different protocols through them all day, so I figured I'd be a smartass and ask

(Pleasure when they figure it out, pain if they drop it on their foot.)

                Other parallels exist too:
Technology is sexy, but can also be a task-master when you get addicted.
The obvious metaphor, that this is a "puzzle box."

Nice wit. Great way to convey an idea with a single image.

                  Just a reminder-

                  Teams are encouraged, and welcome.

I don't care if this is your first year at CON, get a team together if you are interested in this contest. You will take away some fun/interesting hardware at the very least.

There *will* be a cap on the number of teams (as each mystery box is time consuming to make)- so first come, first served.

I inetend to enter the competition. I just have a question first. If I mail in my intent to enter can I add more people to my team later? Currently it is going to be just me and my uncle but I'd like to go to my local Phoenix 2600 meeting next week and get a few more people to enter with me.

I'd prefer you enter with your entire team list...

If you see Xlogicx at the 602 2600 meeting tell him I said hello.

We have *many* teams signed up! I am keeping the contest open for a few more- but as I am making each box by hand, there will be a limit-

Teams who have already emailed their entry will get a confirmation email next week.

Once you get to your limit, are you going to arrange for a forfeit of box to the next in a que? First come, first serve? (These kinds of questions will likely be asked by someone after a cap is put into place, and gives you opportunity to let people o the present list know that their "spot" can be lost to someone else if they don't show up by a certain time.)

Such a list may cause people to stop by to see if they can get a spot that someone else abandonded, and even if they don't become members of an audience, or become more interactive with various teams.

Teams will have to send a rep to the contest area on Friday for the 'official' start of the contest- this will be posted here, on the contest webpage, and sent in an email to the addys the teams signed up with.

I will most likely have one or two 'spare' kits for those who bribe the best....
