is there anything odd about the forums the past couple of days? looks like there has been no posting since the 22nd.

it was weird logging in with my usual "show me new threads" command and having it say "nothing new here" ... sometimes that's a sign my cookie is a little wonked. but it really does seem like no new posts are recorded.

anyone remember seeing traffic so slow recently? or did something happen to the database?

Rumor has it the story involves a case of turnips, several female football hooligans from Leeds, and a midnight prisoner exchange at Checkpoint Charlie.

And if that wasn't the rumor, it is now.

Forums for Defcon 19 events rolled out based on confirmations from leaders/organizers claims of contests and events that will be returning.

New Ideas, Drunken Banter, and related forums for contests/events moved to new de19 contests/events forum.

Custom avatar images can be a max of 64x64 pixels and 10k in size. Some of the built-in avatars are a little larger, if you want to use one of them.

Do you have a jpeg that is 64x64 pixels in size or smaller but more than 10k in size?

    Maintenance mostly complete.

Please reply here if you notice strangeness with the forums or see something is broken. If you can't post, email us at defconforums@gmail.com with the problem you found so we can investigate it.

    Thanks!

Another example of how post count is meaningless... so many posts from me with nothing to do with hacking, just administratrivia and management info.

I'm delayed with maintenance. Will start at 9pm.

Main defcon site ( https://www.defcon.org/ ) works for me without error message. Slow, but it is working and available.

Access to the main defcon website and dctv is unavailable right now. Access to pics and forums is fine, zippy and working well.

DT has been notified of the unavailability of www.defcon.org
