Please make an attempt to use proper punctuation. Lack of punctuation makes you appear ignorant. Not all forum members speak English, and the above is difficult to parse without punctuation.
Example:
I think you can understand this if there is no punctuation then it can be hard to follow what is written on the forums a lack of the proper punctuation makes it difficult to understand you understand what I am writing
vs.
I think you can understand this. If there is no punctuation, then it can be hard to follow what is written. On the forums, a lack of the proper punctuation makes it difficult to understand. You understand what I am writing?
I'm not a punctuation/spelling Nazi, but when violations of these rules threaten understanding, I have no problem making a comment.
This year I plan to participate in a few contests, actually see a talk in person, and chit-chat with old & new friends.

I feel like a dog on a chain, hooked up to the doghouse, in the rain, at night, while the entire family is inside the warm house enjoying a steak dinner. I am so gonna miss you guys.

there are a few means by which we in the community will reach a hand out to you, both at defcon and external to defcon. a few projects i've been kicking around... let's call them the "TTB" project and the "DCT" project. more news to come soon.
"I'll admit I had an OiNK account and frequented it quite often… What made OiNK a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store… iTunes kind of feels like Sam Goody to me. I don't feel cool when I go there. I'm tired of seeing John Mayer's face pop up. I feel like I'm being hustled when I visit there, and I don't think their product is that great. DRM, low bit rate, etc... OiNK it existed because it filled a void of what people want." - Trent Reznor
I went last year, and I didn't really know what to expect. This year, I plan on possibly joining in some of the events, and making more contacts. Since I (somewhat) know what to expect this time around, I'm actually going to try to plan things, rather than just "hanging out".
...Overall, I had a blast last year, and want to experience it once again.

the first year is usually an adjustment year. take in the surroundings, get a feel for the atmosphere, learn about all the things that go on that you never knew about (parties, events, contests), and make contacts.
but your second year is entirely different. its just as awsome, but alot more interactive. you have an idea of whats going on, what you want to do, and generally feel more a part of it all.
dont let this dissuade you first timers. your first DC is still awsome. And you cant have an even better second time without a first.
I had to vote for the cotman needing sex.. LOL. actually.. I just wanted him to know.. yes.. I do know my pw and to ignore anyone requesting a change.
On a serious note: I go to DC for a few of the conf. they keep me on my toes and remind me how limited my knowledge has become in my old age. The rest is for the fun and seeing the people i enjoy talking to online.
In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
Is Defcon 14 your first Defcon? Why are you going? What are you expecting?
Defcon 14 will be my 7th, and a highlight of my year.
Why go? Learn new stuff, meet new people, see old friends, geek out, get new black tshirts before the Fall fashion season, gamble, live on pizza Red Bull and vodka like the pioneers used to.
I'm expecting... that I may not have to use my amazing Phoenix-native "stand in line in the sun all day without passing out" skillz this year! (but I'll bring a hat just in case)
