I heard that DefCon was canceled too. Real shame, I can understand though, with the current economic crisis and all.

I heard it will be renamed and held at a different venue, the new name from what I was told will be "deafcon" . hopefully it will be nearly as fun

Odd, my interpretation was that all attendee's were to be required to surrender notarized copies of birth certificate, driver's license, passport, and social security card. Something about running for warrants too, but i heard that from a friend's roommate's cousin's dad's fraternity brother's dog's previous owner's friend's ex girlfriend's nephew, so take it with a grain of salt...
