Somehow I don't think the rumors come close to the weirdness that really goes on.

At DC9 some folks felt they overslept at three hours a night. I know that the scheduled events end at a given time, but do you think that the con is becoming a 24 hour event? I swear, the guys selling t-shirts at 11:15pm had a captive audience last year, and will this year too!

They sure did!... why weren't they out taking advantage of the night/early morning? ;) Take caffeine, b12 to keep you up... sure you are gonna crash like hell after the con is over.. but that is what Monday is for.

Well I plan to stay up and active as much as possible, very little gos on from 5-9am so I can sleep a little in that time. I'm staying over Monday so I'll be a regular tourist then.

Today I formatted my 2nd hard drive with XP Pro and got it all ready for the con. Sure is funny how most ISPs do not offer a secure connection for e-mail. In some cases the connection is secure onloy after your logon and password and sent in the open.

Does anyone know of a service where I can use my e-mail client to send and receive securely?

Presently I plan to use MD5 through a VPN for mail, if I MUST check it.

You always have hushmail :) They have a client plugin for Outlook, but I haven't tried it yet.

Outlook, yea, now there's security. I have always used Eudora and I never get hit with the virii de jour.

Yeah, it wasn't worth the setup to use the plugin, so I just use their web client, it is pretty handy for sending and retrieving email, and even better if you are communicating with another hushmail user.

I've used outlook throughout the past and have never gotten infected by a virus.... it's a user thing
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

                      Yup

I have to agree, I think it all depends on the user. I have never ran a Virus, period, yet my co-workers seem to be totally inept when it comes to getting attachments from people they don't even know.

Have a shell that you can SSH to from the con and have that shell do fetchmail. Its very easy to do and it is secure.

I have that, even tested it today, but I wonder if the initial password is broadcast unsecured.

I'm sure hundreds of folks will be happy to let me know if it works!

Muhahaha, now everyone will have purple hair and I will reign with BLUE alone!... my master plan.. ahaha.. wait, why can everyone read this.. ARGH!
