        Glock 19 (9mm)
        Star Firestar Plus (9mm)

I love the latter. So much heft, it actually feels like I'm holding something.
Must check airport regs these days & see about ammo...ran out. Even White-trash-mart has nothing. o_O

          ph0enix, a few questions...
          1. are you a "maybe" or are you thinking you might be a "definite" as far as coming to the shoot with us?

          2. do you have any sort of ride to and from the Lovell Campsite?

          3. did you want a shirt, and if so what size?

            Hey,

Trying to get out to DC this year -- took a 2-year hiatus, so I'm very determined to get out there. This depends on 2 things -- ability to find a suitable room share (one decent lead), and $employer$ confirming solid dates for my next travel gig ("Sometime in August" is all I'm getting, presently. Pushing them for more info.) So, I'm a maybe. For now.

I should have a more definite answer this week, and either way, I'll let you know. :) If I am able to make it, I'm a definite for the shoot, and have a ride (could also probably take folk, too). I just finished a gun safety course, and am starting a beginners civilian defense course. I'm new to it, but I'm proud of my progress and eager to observe others.

I'll hold off on #3 until I know more, re: the above. In the meantime, I'm a M, but if they run big, I'm a S. If I can't confirm until last minute, no big whoop on the shirt. Thank you for asking. :)

Re: So what are people thinking of bringing?

Get your ammo early, I'm having trouble getting stuff. Went to my range today and tried to purchase 200 rounds of American Eagle .45 230g FMJ 's and was told that they couldn't sell it to me unless I used it on premise due to shortages. This was for everyone and until further notice. They said if they just sold it outright that they wouldn't have enough to keep the range going order to order. I ended up having to buy more expensive 200g EFMJ's and 185g HS-JHP for Vegas. Well at the least the lighter rounds won't drop so much over distance.

                Just thinking out loud:

Won't we need targets, backing, tape/wire ties, some wooden stakes, ...etc; stuff like that?

their ludicrously self-contradicting notions aside, what's to stop you from buying it to "use", going to shoot, putting two or three mags worth downrange, and then saying you have just gotten an urgent text and you have to leave? i'd be tempted to do that simply on the grounds of bucking such nonsensical rules.

merlin may be our main supply of awesome on that front. we will also likely have boxes and improvised materials, etc.

i plan on making a supply run when i'm in town earlier to scrounge what i can in a number of ways. also, at least one form of targets which are going to be there with me have been designed and printed out. heh, i had serious fun photoshopping them... see the details in my comments about this year's marksmanship contest in the other thread.

Re: So what are people thinking of bringing?

As has been said, try finding ammo now - stuff is extremely hard to find. I lucked out and got a few boxes of what I needed right as they came off the truck at a Wal-mart.

I will definitely be bringing my mossy 590A1, as well as some of my .22s (likely two of my CZ 452 bolt action and T/C R-55 semi-auto). Bringing (hopefully) plenty of ammo and probably around 100 slugs for the shotgun.

EDIT: Also wanted to say that I am bringing my cameras. If you want to pose with your gear (or someone else's if they're fine with it), let me know.

If anyone would like to have a go at any of these, I'm cool with sharing the love. Just be prepared to bring your own ammo (or reimburse me). PM me if you are wanting to shoot any of these, so I can make sure I bring the one you want, that sort of thing.
                      ---

I am interested in checking out any AR15-style rifles. I am just starting to get familiar with these, as I would like to eventually buy/build one. I am interested in first-hand experience and input from current owners. If anyone is bringing anything along those lines and would be willing to let me shoot it, PM me with ammo requirements so I can come prepared.

I would also like to shoot an XD in various calibers. I will already have ammo for that with me, so I am hoping someone brings them.

I have managed the following for the trip:

                          SA XD-45
                          Ruger P89DC
                          Hesse H91

I also have 100 rounds of .308 WIN ammo that I will be willing to unload fairly cheap if anyone wants it or can use it at the shoot...

how cheap is cheap? i'm going to have .308 ammo in allotments of 10 rounds for $10 (for simplicity's sake) for anyone who wants to dance with the M1A. i do not recall how much i have but in case i run out yours could come in handy.

also... what type of ammo is it? (specifically... case, round, and powder?)

I have 40 rounds of Lellier & Bellot FMJ 147 Grs, 40 rounds of Hornady SST 150 Grs, and 20 rounds of Remington premier match BTHP 168 Grs. I will do away with the whole lot for $100 even or we can work out a price for the different kinds individually. The L&B was way cheaper than the other two but I paid over $120 for all of it together so...

Or, if someone is bringing a .308 with them and would allow me to fire a few rounds of my own ammo through it, I would be game for that as well...

all of those, even the Czech stuff, are likely to be brass-cased, so i'm happy with any of them being fired through the M1A, pending confirmation of that.

sounds like you and i are offering ammo for the same price, so people can approach either of us. in truth, it's very likely that i will want to take that whole lot off your hands to go home with any extra. i may even just try to pick it up from you at the beginning of the shoot if you don't mind. (but of course if people want to give it a dance, i'll let it be fired there... i just want to keep a few boxes of each type to see how they perform later on under more controlled conditions)

sure, you'd be more than welcome to fire off some through the battle rifle.
