Come on astcell, they are justified prophets... I am waiting for that Macromedia FlashOS to come out :) Looks real easy to use... wait, that was real right?

        Laminated maps

If someone can get me digital copies of the maps I can bring laminated copies free for all from work. (Gotta love the 'fringe benefits') They'd only be 8.5 x 11 though, but I could probably do a couple of zooms as well, like make a 5 page DCX underground map book.

So, anyone got a digital copy of those maps?

Fuck yeah! I am so there! Hmmm... sharing a beer and talking to some bums sounds like fun... but I am a little leary about waking them up.

Might be bringing a friend of mine that is a marine. He would be useful. Also, will be bringing a digi cam, but it doesn't have night vision like all you uber 1337 people with Sony stuff.

Cool, i am sure there will be enough lights, hopefully we won't be requiring the IR to see through pitch black.. and one can never have too much muscle :)

Can't remember who approached me about this on irc, but appearantly there's quite the group going. I'm in. Anything in particular I should bring? Anything the group is missing as of yet?
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Once can never hate too much :)
                Suggested Items:

                - 6-D-Cell maglite (spare bulbs, fresh batteries)
                - Boots
                - Camera, video with flash or IR
                - Map
                - Compass

... otherwise I wouldn't suggest bringing anything to do with electronics, remember that anything that is rf will not work well if at all. Also if for some reason there is a need to run, you don't want to be weighed down by something you probably won't use.

I suppose if your CCW is valid in Nevada, go for it.. though I wouldn't feel too comfortable with someone waving it around in a concrete tunnel on long straight paths, one misfire and it will be richochet city... especially if something is down there and wrestles it away from you... yikes... perhaps better leave the arms in your hotel room.

I'd have to agree.. 'Bouncing' bullets don't sound to appealing to me either. If you want to bring something down there, I think a knife might be the way to go.

Seriously, chances are there is nothing too scary there... sure there is a crackhouse about 4 blocks from the AP's tunnel entrance(or so I have heard), but that only adds to the excitement.. I am sure if we were all just walking through a tunnel that we knew for 100% nothing would happen, most people probably wouldn't waste there time... most people go to car races to see something happen, same for airshows... life is too short not to take any risks.

I wouldn't be too worried either. The fact that there will be over 15 people going down there alone means you'll be safe. Safety in numbers and all. I doubt there would be anything worth worrying about down there anyways.

Imagine if the press gets wind that 15 hackers are going underground, literally. I bet they think we're going to tunnel up through a casino vault and 0wn the city by dawn!

It is a nice idea though. :p

LOL! I think I can run fast for like 10 seconds and then I am toast. I am not too worried about any problems. If there is as big a group going as it sounds like then there shouldn't be any problems. 2 bums are not going to be able to over power 10 or more of us? Hmmm.... unless its one of those T2000 type bums.

Anybody have a time/place to meet worked out yet?
