Something tells me that instead of going to the zoo on thur when I get in, i'll end up in the hotel lobby around 4pm...assuming this denver storm doesn't mess up travel too much.

Great time this weekend...still trying to catch up. I'll have the handout I promised up on my website by the end of the weekend. Thanks to all the Shmoo staff and everyone who came out!

                Re: Shmoocon

I had a monumentally amazing time and have to thank everyone who made that so.

My whole crew in the Lockpick Village - Babek, Steve, Q, Eric, Mouse, louee, Jackalope, meee, Calypso & her girlfriend... i couldn't have done it without you. And thank you all so much for helping me make Gringo Warrior happen. I can't wait to put up some photos and videos of that. Every participant was awesome. Some notables were certainly Renderman and LostBoy. Heh, we even had the voice of Dean Venture show up from Katzucon.

Noid, you kicked ass as a roommate... sorry about snoring so loudly. As I tell everyone, if i'm on my side i'm much better. The best way to ensure that is to have me in bed next to someone, so consider just springing for a call girl and things will be a lot quieter in the room. Well, after a while they'll be quieter.

All the Shmoo are amazing and I owe them a large bit of thanks for letting me storm in every year with a crap-ton of equipment and take over a whole space in their con. Super-special thanks to Heidi for getting me a keycard to a small group meeting room way off to the side. (A card that was only supposed to be for storage and only supposed to work until midday on Friday but in fact functioned the whole con... Super-secret hookup space FTW. I don't know how many folk availed themselves of that room, but i know that there were zero bottles of water left in the mini-fridge by Sunday night.)

My apologies to everyone with whom i didn't get enough time. It's crazy enough at con regularly... this time, between running a game and giving talks all in the same room my life was like one big series of people tapping me on the shoulder and asking for a second of my time. I feel bad for every person from whom i turned away for a second only to not turn back again for five minutes.

The Shmoo know how to bring it each year... and between the kickass swag, the open bar on saturday night with Keith spinning, and the entire crowd of amazing folk... well, i'm glad i have a way to score an entry to this con every year because i don't know what i'd do without it.

                  Re: Shmoocon

Wow I had way more fun than I thought I was going to have. I can't thank –everyone- enough for my birthday dinners, lunches, you name it! So appreciated! I went with a few things in mind, learn how to escape handcuffs, get my Master Lock opened (that didn’t happen, but I didn't get to let EricM give it a try), meet some cool people, get a turntable, and hang out with everyone.

I wasn't expecting to get to hack an anime convention (and I'm not kidding, when the dj at their rave is playing songs specifically for YOU, the party is 0WNED), make some really close friends, play Gringo Warrior with the guy who does the voice of Dean Venture (Mike Sinterniklaas, you rule!), see more sushi on a table than I ever have, drink awesome sake (thanks Luis/Che/Mike/Jay), hang out on top of a building and see the skyline (awesome idea to kidnap all of us, Mr. Farr.), get to hang out with DT (awe, thank you for coming out!), to not really learn how to play Mao, watch LosT contact juggle, hear "Fire in the hole!", have so much fun in the room I stayed in (that ruled!), stay up for –nearly- (scary literally!) all of con and uh wow….of course there's more.

Mega thanks to: Luis, Jur1st, Thorn, Golgo, Meee, Noid, C4lypso, Marie, mtfmpy?, DC401, Cnelson, the whole Intelguardians crew several times over, Toorcon guys, Shmoo for the con!, LosT for handing me clues that still make no sense, Che for being crazy enough to bring a 1200, Larry for introducing me to carmel macchiatos, Deviant (xoxo), Mouse, EricM, DT, and Mr Farr. + of course everyone who knows their name should be here and I missed cuz I still haven't recovered from staying up all con… minus, literally, about 5 hours of it.

Picts: this is what I have up so far, more coming:

Cheers to all the great new people I met! I wasn't in too much of a party mood because I've got to find a new job, but con was a nice break from reality and the party rocked hard. The presentations were awesome too everyone

I'm going to say this for the LAST time....

I already had plans to go to a reunion to visit my Navy buddies for months before the con date was posted. I was at the con in spirit and photographic form (courtesy of meee's camera).

Now stop sending me hate e-mails/texts.

Shmoo was definately hot, had a lot of fun can't wait until next year. It was great meeting some new people and seeing others I've met before and getting to know them better. :-)

Wow, I can't believe it went by so quickly. I miss everyone already. Thanks so much to everyone who got up at 10 am to support my talk - I know how hard that was.

Special hugs to my con family. Renderman and Grey Frequency as always sharing a room with you is just like coming home. Deviant Ollam, being around you just makes the con for me (btw: I'm wearing my Got Wiffy shirt and thinking of you). LostBoy, my soulmate - I can't believe it's been one year already. GMark - you are amazing and I love spending time with you.
DJ Jackalope, my little sis - thanks for the great photos. Babek - I have your T-shirt on my desk. Michaud - your new job sounds awesome, make sure you read Gödel, Escher, Bach! Loueeee - I could listen to you talk forever.
To Che for the Meade and the great converstion. Noid - hope that knee heals fast - I'm looking for a titanium sword cane for you. To Jurist - Congratulations!!!! - Meee - you really can Socially Engineer anything!
Steve, Ben, Hackajar, Nick, Alex, Thorn, Dakahuna, Calypso, GM1, - I'm forgetting tons of people -it's late and I'm still tired - please don't be mad

To all the Shmoo people - thank you so much for a fantastic con. That was my first solo talk before a large audience, and you made it easy for me.

shit, you made me realize it totally forgot about all the people who contributed to my eating and drinking while being merry!

Che & DaKahuna were sources of brew, and Thorn and prez (in addition to being their own self-sustaining perpetual-kickass-machines as always) had a plethora of pizza out one night. Also, the IntelGuardians deserve massive props for the friggin' forklift palette of sushi that arrived in our LP Village one afternoon.

As a last min attendee, I must say, "Why haven't I been going all these years?". I was really glade to see all the usual suspects this year, Mouse, Johnny, Dev Olm., Bruce, Hedi, GM1, Che, Freshman, DT, Grifter, Major, DJ Jackalope, 8E, Meee etc etc etc.

For those of you who bumped into me at the Anime con, no I did not get kicked out (or ass kicked for that matter), though I was happy to help everyone get passes (with the help of 8E of course).

Hope to see you all again the August!
